Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse firefighters are fighting a commercial garage fire on Burnet Avenue, near its intersection with Lodi Street, and are asking people to stay away from the area, according to a Facebook post by the Syracuse Fire Department.

At about 9:46 p.m., a 911 caller reported seeing smoke coming from 703 Burnet Ave., a one-floor auto garage, according to dispatch reports.

When firefighters initially arrived, fire could be seen coming through the ceiling of the building, according to dispatch reports.
