There has been a reported in spike in automobile break-ins in Jackson County, with several reported over the past few nights in neighborhoods in Jefferson.
From the Jefferson Fire Dept Facebook page…
We have had some Entering Auto offenses start up again the past several nights. 3 were in The Heritage, 1 was in Jefferson Place, 1 was in Jefferson Walk and 1 was in Cross Ridge Estates. ALL THE VEHICLES INVOLVED WERE LEFT UNLOCKED. Please don’t leave your vehicles unlocked with valuables and firearms inside them. This is the time of the year when thefts unfortunately increase, and these thieves look for the easiest and quickest ways to steal from you. If anybody reviews their security footage in the above mentioned areas and sees anything that they believe would be helpful to us please contact Sgt. Berry Sossoman at 706-367-5231 ext. 2536.
