Theft, Rockside Road

A vending machine service driver reported finding the padlock missing from the door of his truck and 25 money bags missing from inside during a service call at 9:37 a.m. May 12. The driver said the bags contained approximately $1,000. The padlock was missing and there was no damage to the van door, reports said. There were no suspects or any further information at the time of the report.

Impaired driver, Brecksville Road

Police responded to a call of an erratic driver traveling westbound on Rockside Road at 11:20 a.m. May 12. The caller said the driver of a blue pickup was seen “repeatedly striking the curb and driving poorly,” reports said. The pickup driver told police he had fallen asleep behind the wheel due to fatigue. He appeared intoxicated and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was cited for operating a motor vehicle while impaired and impeding the flow of traffic.

Weapons, Quarry Lane

Employees at a Red Roof in turned in a firearm that had been found inside a room at 10:05 a.m. May 12. The gun had not been reported stolen and was collected by police as evidence.
