Fayetteville police are investigating a Dec. 6 incident where a truck apparently rammed a bank ATM machine, and with the suspects making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett said police on Dec. 6 at approximately 1:30 a.m. were contacted by the Fayette County Communications E-911 Center and dispatched to Heritage Bank on North Jeff Davis Drive regarding an automated teller machine (ATM) alarm call.
“Dispatch notified police a caller stated that a white Chevrolet truck allegedly broke into the ATM at Heritage Bank,” Burdett said. “The alleged suspects made entry into the ATM and were able to take an undisclosed amount of cash.”
In another case, this one in unincorporated Fayette County, sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 8 responded to Storage Xxtra on Ga. Highway 85 North in reference to an entering auto incident.
Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies made contact with the victim, who said he found that the lock on his enclosed trailer had been cut.
Noting that the trailer had been parked on the property for 10 days, the owner said he returned to find that entry had been made and a backpack leaf blower had been stolen, said Babb.
Also in unincorporated Fayette, deputies on Dec. 8 were called to a Greenview Boulevard residence off Milam Road.
Babb said deputies were told by the owner that his green 2000 Honda Odyssey had been parked on Dec. 4. When he returned on Dec. 5, the vehicle was missing. The owner said he did not remember if the vehicle was locked.
