The Music City Grand Prix has made several splashes in partnerships with Josef Newgarden, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Justin Timberlake.

The IndyCar event scheduled for August made another splash on Tuesday, announcing a multi-year agreement with Big Machine Label Group to be the title sponsor for the race.

“Having Big Machine on board is a great alignment with our brand,” Music City Grand Prix CEO Matt Crews said in a release. “Big Machine’s President and CEO Scott Borchetta is a racing enthusiast himself and has been an integral part of Music City Grand Prix as an owner. He will also provide his expertise in music – further proving this festival will be one of speed and sound.”

Spearheaded by founder Scott Borchetta, who is also on the Grand Prix’s ownership group, Big Machine Label Group has several subsidiaries that include Big Machine Records, The Valory Music Co., BMLG Records, Big Machine/John Varvatos Records, Big Machine Distillery, Big Machine Racing, publishing company Big Machine Music, and digital radio station Big Machine Radio.

The record label boasts a stable of top artists such as Florida Georgia Line, Lady A, Brett Young, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Danielle Bradberry. The spirit company is releasing a new vodka line and running special promotions and contests in conjunction with the inaugural grand prix event.

“Being title sponsor of this racing and music festival weekend is the perfect way to celebrate major events returning to the world after more than a year of sheltering,” Big Machine Distillery Executive VP Mark Borchetta said. “Integrating Big Machine Vodka and our new Spiked Cooler vodka juice pouches into the weekend supports our optimism and excitement about the world returning to a semblance of normalcy.”

Billed as a three-day festival filled with food, music and open-wheel racing, the inaugural Music City Grand Prix, which will be held Aug. 6-8 in downtown Nashville, is projected to generate between $20 and $40 million and provide a fan experience centered around live music and food from some of the top artists and chefs from Nashville.

The 2.17-mile makeshift track will feature 11 turns and run next to and near Nissan Stadium, which will serve as a paddock for the event. The track will include the Cumberland River-spanning Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge, making it one of a small group of tracks to cross over a major body of water.

“I’ve worked for decades bringing racing and music together and I can’t think of a better way to welcome the IndyCars back to Nashville than honoring them with our namesake,” Scott Borchetta said. “My very first race was an IndyCar race, the California 500, and this brings it full circle. I truly believe that we’ve created the most exciting new weekend in racing anywhere in the world and Nashville is going to roll out the red carpet.  This will be a party you don’t want to miss.”
