RUSSELL TOWNSHIP, Ohio -

Assist, Cloveridge Road:

Police were dispatched March 30 to a residence where a washing machine caught fire. Officers assisted firefighters to quell the situation.

Property damage, Caves Road:

Sometime overnight April 2, someone drove off the road and damaged a resident’s mailbox and turfed the font yard. The culprit left the scene. The initial report did not state a damage value.

Warrant arrest, Music Street:

While investigating a suspicious vehicle 11:49 p.m. March 26 officers found and arrested a subject on an outstanding felony warrant. The subject was turned over to the proper authorities.

Traffic hazard, Chillicothe Road:

A spring storm with high winds the evening of March 26 resulted in trees and branches falling and blocking roads on several streets, including Kinsman Road, Hillbrook Drive East and Dines Road. Crews worked to remove them and clear the roads.

Telephone hang-up, Spring Valley Drive:

After receiving a 911 hang-up call from a residence, dispatch sent officers to a home 3:07 p.m. March 27. A responding officer spoke to the homeowner who said her children may have made the call. The children admitted to dialing 911 stating they thought it was a play phone. They were advised on the proper use of 911.
