Whatever drama went down between Machine Gun Kelly and Halsey, clearly it’s all forgotten now.
MGK, 30, and the 25-year-old “Without Me” singer were once linked in a messy triangle with her ex G-Eazy, 31, but now that the dust has settled, the two are reunited on the track “Forget Me Too,” from his new album “Tickets to My Downfall.”
“You want me to forget you/OK, forget me too/You tell me you hate me, baby/Yeah, I bet you do,” he croons as the song opens softly before it comes on crashing and thrashing.
The mosh-ready music matches the turbulence of a rocky relationship: “You’re the reason I punched a hole in the wall back home,” MGK sings.
Halsey fuels all of the couple combustion later: “We’d both be better off alone/Still think I’d get you on the phone/With one last breath in me/I’d die before I let you leave.”
MGK, who is now romancing actress Megan Fox, 34, transforms from rapper to full-fledged punk-rocker on “Tickets to My Downfall,” his fifth studio album. Among the other guests assisting his reinvention are Trippie Redd (“All I Know”) and Puerto Rican rapper-singer Iann Dior (“Nothing Inside”).
Meanwhile, Blackbear appears on the hit “My Ex’s Best Friend,” one of two singles MGK currently has in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The other one is “Bloody Valentine,” whose video won Best Alternative at the MTV VMAs last month.
The artist born Colson Baker will take the stage for his first concert of 2020 on Thursday, performing “Tickets to My Downfall” in its entirety from the Roxy club in Los Angeles. Machine Gun Kelly will be joined by special guest Travis Barker, who executive produced his new LP, for the livestreamed show.
Then on Oct. 8, the stylish star will rock the Roxy again, doing his last LP, 2019’s “Hotel Diablo,” in full. Tickets for both events are available at MGK.NoCapShows.com.
