Vallejo Police Department investigating Wednesday auto vs. pedestrian fatality - Vallejo Times-Herald

The Vallejo Police Department is investigating a Wednesday incident of a man who died after being hit by a car on Wednesday.

At approximately 10:42 p.m., the VPD responded to the report of an auto versus pedestrian collision near the 4300 block of Sonoma Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers located a male transient laying in the southbound lanes of Sonoma Boulevard, a news release on Friday afternoon said. Officers attempted life saving measures until medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Officers on scene determined the victim had been struck by a vehicle and the driver of that vehicle fled the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Coroner’s Office.

This case is being investigated by the Vallejo Police Department Traffic Division.
