Private equity firm buys Dahlquist Machine - Plastics News

Ham Lake, Minn. — Dahlquist Machine Inc., a Ham Lake company that specializes in high-speed machining of light metal, aluminum and plastic, has a new private equity owner.

Chicago-based Core Industrial Partners announced the acquisition Dec. 21. Terms were not disclosed.

Dahlquist focuses on the medical device and laboratory testing equipment sectors, and also serves the electronics, instrumental and industrial end markets. The company was founded in 1969 and has more than 30 computer numerically controlled mills and lathes.

Dahlquist will become part of Incodema Holdings LLC, an Ithaca, N.Y.-based company that does sheet metal cutting and forming.

Jeff Dahlquist, president of Dahlquist Machine, said in a news release: "Five of our original employees from the early 1990s remain with the business, and I'm looking forward to partnering with a firm such as Core who will not only provide the resources and expertise to continue our growth trajectory, but also respect the culture and legacy of our company."

According to its website, Dahlquist has 40 employees and machines plastics including nylon, acetal, ABS, polypropylene, polycarbonate, polyetherimide, polyamide-imides, polyphenylene sulfide and ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene.
