Porsche rolled out five new vehicles at the LA Auto Show, including the new GT4 RS.

There’s little about a Porsche that’s quiet, unless you’re speaking of new model unveilings. With little to no fanfare, the German automaker revealed five new models for the first time at LA Auto Show this week: the new 718 Cayman GT4 RS, 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, Taycan GTS, Taycan GTS Sport Turismo and the Panamera Platinum Edition.

“Our young, innovative product range has been well received in the U.S.,” said Oliver Blume, chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, in a statement. “From January to September of this year we were able to increase deliveries in our second-largest single market by 30 percent.”

The company is expecting the good times to continue as these new models reach showrooms. Here’s what’s coming.

718 Cayman GT4 RS, 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport

The 718 Porsche Cayman GTS and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport not top the Cayman range.

Remember the name 718 Cayman GT4 RS; it’s the new flagship of the 718 Cayman line. Its claim to fame? It outpaced its sibling, the 718 Cayman GT4, by more than 23 seconds on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a pace of 7:04.511 minutes.

Credit its naturally aspirated 4.0-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine from the 911 GT3 rated at 500 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque through Porsche’s 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. That’s good enough to run 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 196 mph. Deliveries will begin in December along with a racing variant, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

As you might expect of the track-oriented Clubsport, its shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, ride height, toe, camber and rear wing are all adjustable. It wears massive 15-inch front rotors, and comes with a number of spring rates. Inside, it’s fitted with a welded-in roll cage and a track-specific stability control program.

The Taycan GTS slots between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo.

Plan on plopping down $143,050 for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, and $229,000 for the Clubsport. Buyers of the new car will be able to buy an exclusive Porsche Design 718 Cayman GT4 RS Chronograph, although tis price was not disclosed.

Taycan GTS, Taycan GTS Sport Turismo

Who says that drives of internal combustion engines get to have all the fun? Not Porsche. For the new Taycan GTS and its station wagon sibling, the GTS Sport Turismo, Porsche amps up the wattage to produce a net 590 hp with launch control from two permanent-magnet electric motors.

That’s more than the Taycan 4S’s 462 hp and Taycan Turbo’s 670 hp. Its 93.4-kWh battery has a range of 313 miles, and can be recharged from 5% to 80% in 22.5 minutes. The GTS comes with a standard adaptive air suspension and wears 15.3-inch front rotors along with 20-inch wheels. Rear-wheel steering is optional. A glass roof is standard, an electrochromic roof is optional.

Porsche’s latest trim package: the Panamera Platinum Edition.

Both models reach dealers in spring 2022, with additional Sport Turismo engine options to follow. The Taycan GTS starts at $132,750 including destination charges; the GTS Sport Turismo costs a bit more, starting at $134,650.

Panamera Platinum Edition

Every automaker loves a good trim package, and Porsche is no exception. The new Panamera Platinum Edition starts with Satin Gloss Platinum exterior accents and exclusive 21-inch Design Sport wheels.

The side window trim and tailpipes are finished in high-gloss black. Interior trim details include 14-way power seats, black brushed aluminum trim and door sills embossed with the Platinum Edition logo. Porsche says the Platinum Edition will have an “extensive list of standard equipment,” including LED headlights, an adaptive air suspension and a Bose Surround Sound System. The first models are slated to arrive in January 2022.
