Reviews are mixed on the Echo Auto—some love it, some hate it—but there’s no arguing with its 70-percent Black Friday discount.
Back to its rock-bottom Prime Day price of just $14.99 (down from its $50 list price), the Echo Auto can pipe Alexa though your car’s speakers via Bluetooth or its auxiliary jack. Once connected to your phone’s Alexa app, you’ll be able to speak to Alexa using the Echo Auto’s built-in speaker array, and the device can also switch on Alexa’s Auto Mode view on your handset.
The Echo Auto has its defenders, namely because it’s a cinch to set up and it’s the easiest way to bring Alexa into your car, where she can tee up music, dictate text messages, and even control your smart home while you’re on the road. But we dinged the Echo Auto on our review for an obvious reason: it requires a phone to work.
That said, if you’re even remotely curious about the Echo Auto, this steep Black Friday discount is the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
