GOLDSBORO - Kyle Holland pounded out a game-changing three-run double as the Mount Olive Green Machine handled the Garner Junior Nats, 5-3, on Monday evening.
The two teams continue their season-ending, best-of-three series today. First pitch is 5:45 p.m. at the Eastern Carolina Athletic Park.
Holland delivered his decisive extra-base knock in the third inning. The Machine seized a 4-3 lead on the play.
Connor Allison plated the Machine's final run - an RBI single in the sixth inning.
Carter Smith emerged as the winning pitcher with three innings of work on the mound.
Wyatt Womble claimed the save.
