Atlanta Attachment's new border boxing machine.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Home furnishings sewing equipment supplier Atlanta Attachment Co. will introduce a new border boxing machine at the July 20-21 Furniture Manufacturing Expo.

The machine, designed to improve precision and production efficiency, will be on display during FME the space 1315 of the Metro Convention Center in Hickory, N.C.

Atlanta Attachment, a division of HSM, specializes in developing controls and solutions that automate machinery to improve operator efficiency and boost quality control to transform operations on the furniture manufacturing floor.

The new border boxing machine eliminates operator time and the need for multiple machines for different sized products. The workstation features multi-needle chainstitch with two-inch to six-inch sewing capacity at ¼-inch increments, and folder and feed components that are easily adjustable and do not need dedicated sized machines. The dual puller system allows the first puller to feed the fabric through the machine while the additional roller behind the presser foot pulls at the same rate as the feed to streamline this critical process.

In addition, the machine includes a removable sliding folder assembly, which simplifies the process for threading the sewing head. An ergonomically sound foot pedal allows for flexible pedal setup and precise speed control.

“Increasing the precision of our products and offering more features is something every manufacturer is looking for today,” said Hank Little, president of Atlanta Attachment, in a release. “Another aspect of our work increasingly is helping our customers find solutions to counter the labor shortages hampering the industry. This new machine certainly meets the criteria to help in both areas.”

Upon my return to F/T, I developed coverage of the logistical and service aspects of the furniture industry as well as following the occasional, home office and home entertainment categories. In April 2018 I took over the upholstery category, with responsibility for coverage of the fabric and leather stationary and motion upholstery, recliners and massage chair categories.
