The highly anticipated Horizon sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, introduces 22 new and exciting machines to conquer. With a total of 40 machines, there are plenty of exotic and dangerous fights in this new title. A sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West is a post-apocalyptic version of the western United States. While the game may not answer all the questions from the first title, players are still eager to see where this sequel will take them.

The PlayStation exclusive title is already receiving excellent reviews, particularly related to the map's increased size and outstanding graphics. The main story offers players around 25 to 35 hours of gameplay as Aloy sets out to save Earth from another extinction. Horizon Forbidden West also received its first post-launch patch. In this move, the Bristleback will dislodge rocks from the ground and launch them at the player.

The machine's elemental weakness is shock damage and acid arrows. The weak points of its body are its grinder discs, acid canisters, and tusks. Hitting those points with arrows or Aloy's much better Horizon Forbidden West spear will do heavy damage to the machine. The easiest way to take down a Bristleback is by equipping acid arrows and shooting the two green canisters on its rear. Shooting the canisters with acid arrows creates an enormous explosion killing the machine almost instantly. However, if Aloy is close by when the machine explodes, she will take damage.

Defeating Slitherfangs can be difficult because they can coil around large objects and even dig underground. Dodging and attacking at the right time is crucial when taking on a Slitherfang.

This aquatic machine can attack on land or in water, making it brutal to fight. The Tideripper is resistant to fire attacks but weak to frost or shock attacks. Using the Shock Tripcaster or Frost Hunter Bow will be the most effective against this machine.

The Tideripper has an attack that shoots Purgewater out of its neck toward the player. It also uses its head as a weapon, slinging it at Aloy to attack up close. Knocking off the Purgewater cannon is crucial for taking down this gigantic machine. It is best if players avoid the Tideripper altogether while underwater, considering Horizon Forbidden West enemies will follow Aloy underwater.

The Tremortusk is in the Combat class and was built to keep humans from overrunning the ecosystem.

The Tremortusk is weak to frost damage, so the Frost Hunter Bow will be crucial when fighting it. To defeat Tremortusks in Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy should target weak points on the machine's body, including its tusks and belly. While in combat, the machine will use a tusk sweep that is fast and hard to dodge. Rolling into the machine between its legs is the best way to avoid this attack. Dealing with more than one Tremortusk means almost instant death in Horizon Forbidden West, as Aloy must make the right moves at the right time to take down just one of these machines. Players will want to be careful when facing this and other new machines.
