HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department had to close part of the North Freeway following a deadly auto-pedestrian crash on Monday night.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 8 p.m. on the North Freeway at West Mount Houston.

Officials stated a 46-year-old man was struck by a Nissan Sentra that was traveling northbound. The pedestrian died at the scene.
Houston police said the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene, and did not appear to be impaired.

Witnesses told police that the man who was struck darted across the freeway for unknown reasons.
Police say the investigation continues.
