A Monmouth County auto body shop was damaged in a blaze on Monday. The fire happened at A Z Auto Repairs on Route 35 in Neptune City around 1:38 p.m. on New Year’s Day, Deputy Police Chief Michael McGhee confirmed Tuesday.
No one was inside the shop at the time of the fire, McGhee said, and no injuries were reported. The fire was under control within a half hour, McGhee said.
First responders cleared the scene by 3:42 p.m. The fire’s cause is not believed to be suspicious, but the blaze remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Attempts to reach A Z management on Tuesday were unsuccessful.
